Privacy policy

ToDo Hero is an offline-first game and task tracker. This policy explains what information the application creates, where it is stored, and how optional website analytics works.

1. Data stored on the device

Tasks, planned tasks, diary notes, game progress, inventory, settings, and tutorial status are stored locally on the user’s device. ToDo Hero has no accounts and does not upload this information to a developer server.

2. Permissions and notifications

Notification, vibration, exact-alarm, and device-restart permissions are used only to show locally generated reminders about enemy attacks and restore their schedule. The game continues to work if optional notification or exact-alarm access is denied, although reminders may be delayed or unavailable.

3. Save import and export

Export creates an encrypted .todohero file in a location chosen by the user. Import reads only the file explicitly selected by the user. These files are not uploaded by the application; the user controls their storage, transfer, and deletion.

4. Mobile application data

The ToDo Hero mobile application does not sell or share personal data. The application contains no advertising, analytics, account system, or developer-operated network service. This statement does not apply to the optional analytics on todohero.app, described below.

5. Website analytics and cookies

todohero.app uses Google Analytics 4 only after the visitor gives explicit consent. Analytics helps count visits and identify which pages and site features are useful. Google Analytics may process page views, session information, scrolling, link clicks, approximate location, browser and device type, and a client identifier in the _ga and _ga_* cookies. The standard lifetime of these cookies is up to two years.

Task text, journal entries, save files, and game progress are not sent to Google Analytics. Advertising storage, advertising personalization, and Google signals are disabled. Visitors can decline analytics or change their choice through “Analytics settings”; declining does not restrict the website or web game. Google processes analytics data under its privacy policy.

6. Retention and deletion

Local game data remains on the device until the user selects “Clear all data” in Settings, clears the application data through the operating system, or uninstalls the application. Exported save files must be deleted separately by the user. Event-level user data in Google Analytics is retained for two months; aggregated reports may be retained for longer.

7. External links

The “My projects” action opens the developer’s itch.io page in an external browser. Once the browser opens, that website processes information under its own privacy policy.

8. Children

ToDo Hero is not specifically directed at children and does not knowingly collect personal information from children or other users.

9. Changes and contact

This policy may be updated when the application’s data practices change. The effective date will be updated with it. Privacy questions can be sent through the developer page.
